Pediatrician 's  Response
Thanks for the query.
I think this is the case of spina bifida occulta: the mildest form; there is a breach in the spinal vertebrae but it's covered by skin.

Most people with spina bifida occulta require no treatment at all.

Children with meningocele typically require surgical removal of the cyst and survive with little, if any, disability.

There is no cure for spina bifida. The goal of treatment for spina bifida is to allow the individual to achieve the highest possible level of function and independence.

Hope i answered the query.

Pediatrician, Surgery Dr. Antony Robert Charles's  Response
This is called 'Spina bifida Occulta'. There is no need to worry or panic about this as it is extremely common and does not usually cause any issues.

The only fear is that of a tethered cord which has been ruled out, so that is great news. please dont worry unless there is onset of weakness in legs, loss of control of motion or urine.

Regards
