I fell in mid January, hit my head, etc. I was taken to hospital, where the docs did an mri, cat scan, etc. I had no cracks in the skull and no internal bleeding. They did find stinosis in my neck, which seems to have been aggravated, as I am now getting a tingling sensation down my arms (sometimes going down my chest) when I nod my head, take a bowl movement, go down stairs, etc. I never had these actions prior to the fall. It has been suggested that I probably will need surgery. If that is the case, what are the dangers/downsides? How much long and short term help can the surgery produce; will there be short or longer term lasting negative effects; what are the dangers of the surgery? Because of scheduling issues, assuming I get the surgery, it cannot happen prior to August. What precautions should I take in the meantime. I am an orchestra conductor, and have a busy summer ahead of me. I have been conducting since the accident, and am being careful with my movements. So far, there does not seem to be negative consequences. Thank you for your advice. jay
