Swollen Throat, Difficulty In Swallowing, Opening Mouth, Bout Of Sneezing, Runny Nose And Eye Irritation. Are They Related?
Hi Dr. Bhatti. My throat has become swollen as of a few hours ago and it s making it difficult to swallow or open my mouth very wide without pain. This has been accompanied by a bout of sneezing , runny nose , and eye irritation that usually accompanies my seasonal allergies, which hasn t been bad until today. Do you think the two are related?
Hi,
it seems to be an acute attack of rhino-pharyngitis.
As you suffer from seasonal allergies too, any change in weather or exposure to cold might very easily trouble you.
Avoid cold foods and cool environment(e.g. AC)
Take warm saline gargle.
Take a nasal decongestant and an antiallergic tab.
You need antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs too.
You need to go for routine blood analysis.
Kindly consult you Physician for the needful.
