Taking Prednisone After Been Diagnosed With PMR. How To Reduce ESR Which Went High After Bladder Infection?

Hello. I was diagnosed with PMR a year and a half ago. I have been taking prednisone I managed with 3-5mg od. After having a bladder infection my ESR went to 100 so had to go back to 15 mg. That got my ESR down to 18 mg in one month. How much can I lower the dose and how often can I lower it. Thank you.Jeanette.

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
The treatment of the bladder infection comprises of the antibiotics, antiinflamatories, and B complex. I think you are using medicine by your own self with out prescription.
If you use prednisolone, alone with out antibiotics any thing can happen like flaring of infection etc. Prednisolone also should be stopped or reduced by tapering only.
Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and
protein rich foods to increase the body resistance.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
