Teenager. Severe Pain In Abdomen After Taking Prescribed Levest Contraceptive Pill For Regularising Periods. No Help From Painkillers. Guide

My 17 year old daughter has been prescribed the levest contraceptive pill due to irregular periods. She has been taking them for three days and today she is suffering from excruciating pains in her abdominal area. She has tried taking pain killers but to no avail. What should she do? She has never taken any contraceptive pills before.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Dysfunctional uterine bleeding, irregular bleeding, pain in groin area at the age of 17 years & taking contraceptive pills but not responding.
Possibilities may be of ovarian cyst . As at this age this is a most common disease.
Get in an ultrasound of abdomen with both ovaries and also uterus.
2. May be due to hormonal imbalance so please get blood for estrogen, androgen, L H /F S H ration ( alteration), testosterone level.
Consult a gynaecologist and get his opinion and deal accordingly.
Good luck.
