Test Shows Salmonella Typhi, Malaria And Plasmodium Falciparum. Medical Cure For This?
I have a test result that reads: widal Rxn: salmonella typhi o= 160, salmonella paratyphi AO=20, salmonella paratyphi CO=160, salmonella typhi h=160. others are less than 20. Then for malaria parasite: (scanty) ring form of plasmodium falciparum. specimen used is blood. I would like to know the interpretation of the result and what I may possibly be suffering from.
Hi, From report it indicates that you are having Falciparum Malaria with typhoid fever. Consult your doctor and correlte lab report with your symptoms. Ok and take care.
Hi!
In your case you are having malaria by plasmodium falciparum which needs to be treated but about widal test I always tell my patients not to be worried with a single positive result because
..test is not very specific and only helpiful if next time it shows 4-fold increase in titre
..widal test shows cross reaction with malaria so it might be false positive result due to malaria itself
..typhoid is only confirmed if a typhoid bacteria are cultured hence a positive blood culture report is confirmatory.
hope this will help.take care!
