Throbbing Pain, Swelling, Bruise After Hitting Hard On Shin. Pain During Movement. Will It Heal Itself?

I fell one week ago and hit my shin pretty hard on the edge of a step. Initially it dented in, then swelled and bruised. A few days later I started experiencing a throbbing pain about 4 inches below where I hit my shin. Its very tender to the touch and It seems to get a little worse every day. It hurts worse when it's been immobilized or when I cross my legs. It also is a little sunken in, slightly warm to the touch and the skin over that area is splotchy light pink. The area I hit is still bruised and swollen. I'm hoping its something that will heal itself, I have a very high deductible insurance and can't really afford a $2,000 ER!bill :-(

Hi,
It seems that you might be having infection over the part giving rise to bruises and throbbing pain.
Go for one antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicine courses after consulting your doctor.
apply antibiotic cream locally after cleaning.
Ok and take care.
