General & Family Physician, Dr. Jay Patel's Response
Hi,
Based on the information you had a ultrasound and report came back saying not Homogeneous and want to know what does it means.
The non-homogeneous ultrasound means that the inner surface of the uterus which need to be smooth normally is not so smooth, which may have a benign growth like uterinemyoma , in simple terms is growth of uterine muscle and which is probably cause of the heavy bleeding and continued cramping is part of symptoms from having it.
Below mention are the symptoms from uterine myoma 1) Long, gushing periods and cramping. 2) Fullness or pressure in their belly. 3)Low back pain. 4) Pain during sex. 5) An urge to urinate often.
Its a benign growth (restricted to the location) can be taken out easily if necessary. Please do not panic, its very common condition in females and 100 % treatment is successful.
Thanks Dr.JAY PATEL
