Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I fell and twisted my ankle severely; I felt on my foot and it bended that the top of my foot becomes the sole of my foot...20 minutes later I have been having chills and the foot is swollen. Are the feverish chills normal? I know I have to go see a doctor because I cannot put pressure on the foot- I am not sure if a fall and twisted ankle can cause feverish chills. Thank you for your help.
usually injury to ankle does not cause fever or chills but if pain is very bad then it can cause such problems. I would suggest you to apply ice over ankle, diclofenc gel and compression bandage. You can take tablet Brufen for pain relief.Your doctor may like to get your x ray.
