Ultrasound Shows Growing Cyst On Ovaries, Malignant. How Concerned Should I Be ?

I had a US about 5wks ago and a CT 3days ago. My Dr. called and said they had grown significantly in that short amount of time and is going to refer me to a Dr. more experienced in handling complicated cyst. She is a OBGYN and is referring me to a OBGYN oncologist even though she said it was malignant and blood work didn't indicate and cancer markers. How concerned should I be? What are some of the complications? (US showed one on my right ovary measuring 14cm and two on my left ovary totaling over 15cm, and they've grown)

Hello,
In the current scenario, you would definitely need the opinion of a gynecological oncologist considering the size of the cysts and the rapidity of growth; yet, the positive point is the absence of tumor markers. The tumors could be benign. Until and unless a complete work up is done to see the extent of the growth and if there is any spread, no decision can be done. Even if malignancy is diagnosed, in early stages, prognosis is good. Hope your query is answered. Wish you good health.
