Hi, my mother in-law had a headaches, and the impression of her MRI Brain scan is that scattered white matter T2/FLAIR hyperintense foci, the largest at right posterior centrum semiovale. These foci are most probably microinfarctions or ischemic foci. Need advice what are these microinfarctions or ischemic foci?
Hello and welcome to Healthcamagic. It means that there was previously mild strokes that caused ischemia of brain. Symptoms depend on location of ischemia and size of these loci. There is no specific treatment. She should have aspirin100 and reduce atherosclerosis risk. I hope I have answered your query. I wish you a nice day.
