What does a MRI reading of mild degenerative heterogeneous marrow signal involving the l3, l4 and l5 vertebral bodies. Focal T1 & T2 hyperintense lesions are noted within the l5 vertebral body and within the posterior aspect of the l1 vertebral body which may reflect hemangiomas. What does this mean.
According to MRI report there are age related changes in the bone marrow of vertebral bodies involving L3,L4 and L5 vertebrae. These are due to gradual replacement of red bone marrow by yellow marrow. There are also focal T1 & T2 hyperintense lesions in L5 and within the posterior aspect of the L1 vertebral body,it is due to hemangioma.Hemangioma are benign incidental findings and these are the tangle of blood vessels. It doesn't require any treatment. Hope i have answered your query.
