I had a vein in my nostril cauterized 3 weeks ago. A green crust build-up with bloody mucous keeps forming and blocking my breathing. I also have bloody mucous in the other nostril which wasn t present before the cauterization was done. What should be done?
Hi, Welcome to healthcare magic. I had gone through your question. I can understand your concern. The most common complication of cauterization is pain and crusting. Secondary to crusting it can cause nasal bleed and blockage. I recommend the following. 1) Hemocoagulase nasal drops for stopping bleeding. 2) Saline nasal spray to prevent crusting. 3) If bleeding does not stop, you need to consult your doctor. You will be fine. Hope I have answered your question. If you have any questions, I am happy to help. Wish you a good health and speedy recovery. Regards, Dr Paparaja S MBBS MS Consultant ENT Surgeon
