What Are The Specific Symptoms Of A Herniated Disk L2-L3?
I have a herniated disk L2-L3 what are the specific symptoms of this herniation? I am an old hand at this, so don't need general symptoms of disk herniation. I have had total of 11 lumbar and cervical fusions . Just can't find the info to distinguish between pyriformis syndrome and L2-3 herniation. Can you help?
HI. Specific as you asked for : local pain at the level of L2-3, radiating pain to hip and thigh. It may be difficult to lift the thigh in sitting position. If you do not have radiation of the pain to the legs and down , it is difficult to say pyriformis syndrome ( which itself is rare). If you have already a protruded disc at L2-3, your problems may be more due to it. One can go for clinical examination by an Orthopedic Surgeon who by examination can certainly rule out either of the diagnosis. I would advise you to go for clinical examination.
