Hello Sir! My name Arnab Das I am a 20 year boy. 2months ago at the time of playing football I shoot boll s upper side and I got Bruise at my knee ACL . But there was no Swelling and pain then and now. I just fell uncomfortable to do some movement and then to now I don t take rest. one week ago I meet with a doctor and he adviced me to do MRI. Respected Sir I just want to know from u really I need mri and what is the common symptoms of tore ligament.
Dear Arnab,
usually if there is no swelling and pain then you need not worry of any major ligament injury of knee. The feeling of discomfort to the front of your knee might be due to inflammation of your patellar tendon which requires only rest, ice massage and simple analgesics. But if u feel instability , difficulty in climbing down stairs or locking sensation then you might require an MRI after consulting a orthopedic arthroscopy specialist.

Dear Arnab das, welcome to hcm.
there a few tests we do for checking the possible injuries in and around the knee joints. it has to be performed by a recognised medical practitioner or an orthopaedician in a clinic/hospital.
mri will certainly be helpful in knowing the level of injury and is the best investigation for soft tissue injuries in a clinical set up equipped with the facility.
so, i kindly recommend you to take the opinion of a consultant orthopaedician before doing an mri.
thank you. happy day:-)
It is very common to injure the internal components of the knee such as the menisus, cartilage and ligaments. The best way to evaluate this (without resorting to keyhole surgery) is an MRI of the knee. It is a relatively straightforward examination and has no radiation.
Symptoms vary but most people have intermittent knee, especially during or after activities.
If your symptoms are persisting, you should get an MRI of the Knee.
