What Can Cause The Rectum Area To Hurt Along With Hot Flashes?

Hi -

Are you able to help me. There is something wrong, but I can't figure it out.

I have high liver AST at 107 ALT at 158, have diabetes, but in control, cholesterol good, thyroid in control. I have recently, within the last three weeks been getting severe hot/cold flashes. After I eat, sometimes I am so tired I can't do anything. This sounds silly but It also feels like my rectum area hurts when the hot flashes come on. I am 55 years old, have not had a period in 6 years so I should be over menopause.

Hi i have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Its likely that you are having post-menopausal syndrome.
Most women do not need treatment of menopausal symptoms. Some women find that their symptoms go away by themselves, and some women just don't find the symptoms very uncomfortable. But if you are bothered by symptoms, there are many ways to deal with them, including medications and lifestyle changes.
Try to notice what triggers your hot flashes and avoid those things. Possible triggers to consider include spicy foods, alcohol, caffeine, stress, or being in a hot place.
Dress in layers and remove some when you feel a flash starting.
Use a fan in your home or workplace.
If you still have menstrual periods, ask your doctor if you might take low-dose oral contraceptives (birth control pills). These may help symptoms and prevent pregnancy.
Menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) is the most effective treatment for hot flashes and night sweats, if the benefits of MHT outweigh the risks for you.
Try taking slow, deep breaths when a flash starts.
If you're overweight, losing weight might help with hot flashes.
Liver function tests derangement could be due to diabetes or the drugs you are using.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate to ask. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
