i am a type 2 non-insulin dependant diabetic. I take metormin 1gm x 2 and diamicron mr 30mg 2 in the morning 1 at night. my problem is that i have high fasting BS readings, however my Hba1c is 6.3. my doctor says that i should not worry about the morning reading and continue with my regimen. everywhere i read i am told that fasting BS should be below 6.
Hello welcome to HCM. HBA1c report less than 7 in diabetic patients usually indicate adequate control for diabetes. So don't worry much.. My advice to you is - 1. FBS 2.if FBS rremains higher than it indicates that your night time dosage is inadequate, but to increase the night time dosage has its own risk of hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar) SO CONTINUE WITH SAME TREATMENT AND REPEAT EVERY 3 MONTHLY FBS, PP2BS AND HBA1C REPORT. THANK YOU. HAVE A NICE DAY.
