Fibrous dysplasia is an benign bony condition which is due to a defect in bone remodelling process. It is not an cancer but there are chances though very very negligible of it getting converted into one if improperly treated. the most accepted method of treatment is surgical bone contouring ( shaping the bone) if the disease has lead to any bony deformity.
