Hello Twisted colon or large intestine & small intestine. This type of condition known as obstruction of intestine .In this condition one part of intestine twisted over other part and there develop knot . When this knot occurs there don t develop any sound in intestine i.e This sound is normal and known as Borborgmy sound . As digestion take place in intestine hence there develop continue movement in intestine , so food digest normally . Due to any reason like diarrhea movement of intestine become very rapid hence one part of intestine overlaps other part and make a knot ( twisted)and this produces obstruction. Luckily sometimes this know open ( untwisted ) but when know don t open surgery is only an option otherwise there develops gangrene . M R I find this very easily with barium meal and X RAY examination. Hope this information will help you.
