Hi,

Some type of oral contraceptives (especially Progesterone only contraceptives) have a side effect of irregular spotting or menses which can be scanty or profuse. This is more obvious in early months of intake and gradually the effect settles down in most of patients. I feel the spotting you have is side effect of oral contraceptive and you would have period after you finish your pack whether the bleeding is profuse or lesser. You have to start with fresh pack of pills as advised by your gynecologist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
