What Causes Bruise On Buttocks And Thigh After An Injury?
Hi, I fell on my backside 4 days ago. Now I have a baseball size bruise on my buttcheek and also on my lower thigh, about 2 inches up from the side of my knee. No pain, just ugly. Is this normal? BTW, I have lupus. Oh, never mind. I thought this was a free site. I can t afford to join.
Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hi, Thanks for your query.
From description it seems to be soft tissue injury .baseball size bruise might be due to injury to blood vessels. You need an x-ray to rule out any bony injury. I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination. You may get the X-ray of the area affected under his/her guidance. Beside icing and elevating it, you can take anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care
