What Causes Constant Stomach Aches After Suffering From Ileus?
I left hospital 3 weeks ago after having raised white blood count and an ileus which went away after antibiotics but when I got home I had diarehea for 4 days which also got better but since then I am having normal stomach ach every other day which sometimes starts after going to the loo. Do I need to go back to the doctors? and is ibs the likely cause, as I never had stomach aches before the ileus. thanks.
The problems are apparently due to destruction of 'good bacteria' in the gut following antibiotics.
Take a 3-4 weeks' course of Probiotic, such as, Lactobacilli, along with digestive enzymes and an anti-acid drug, such as, Pantoprazole. You will be all-right with the course.
It may, or may not be, IBS. It is difficult to comment upon at this stage. But you will improve with advised treatment.
Consult your doctor and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he will agree with me and will prescribe suitable/modified treatment as advised.
