In July of 2010 I suffered cervical spine injury during a work related head on traffic accident that totalled two cars, and overturned one. In addition to neck pain, I had daily headaches, and tingling in my arms immediately following the accident. After seven months this progressed to bilateral problems in all extremities to include tingling, weakness, spasms, very painful cramps, plenty of pain in each extremity, loss of control and coordination of all of my limbs. My whole body is shaking. I never had any of these problems previously. Seven months after the accident NJ Workmans Comp did an EMG/NCV and reported that that I have substantial demyeliniation in all four extremities. Workmans comp did MRI and CT scan of my neck, and MRI of my thoracic and lumber spine. I had buldging and protruding disc in my neck. I went to the emergency room seven months after the accident for quickly worsening symptoms, and they told me I had a possible dens fracture. A subsequent CT scan was done which said I had a dens "defect." NJ Workmans Comp is saying that none of my sysptoms are related to my accident as demyelination can not be caused by an accident. Is what they are telling me true? Also, how accurate is an EMG/NCV at diagnosing demyelination?
