What Causes Excess Sweating During Night With Foul Smell?sk
I just turned 40 and for the past few years I have been experiencing terribly drenching night sweats leading up to and during my menstrual cycle. These night sweats also smell horrible. I wake up to the strong odor of vinegar even though I shower regularly and have good hygiene. HELP!!!!!!!!!

Drenching sweats may be due to hot flushes of climacteric if you are going to be menopausal in some time to come. Another important problem may be some infection leading to sepsis e.g. urinary tract infection. Rarely undiagnosed tuberculosis can also be a cause.
You need to get examined, an Xray of chest, complete blood counts, urine routine and culture test.

Sweating is physiological phenomenon and this goes on variation like may be less in some subject and may little more in some subjects, in female during the menses this some time have little foul smelling may due to hormone , to get rid of this you can try any deodorant, have a nice bath prior to bed, drink more water, have fresh fruits and leafy vegetables, hope this helps.

Strong odor of sweat is not particular of anything, because you happen to smell it close in sleeping postures so it smells pungent.
