What Causes Fever Every Night With High Neutrophils In Blood Report?
My husband is getting fever every night which starts around 6.30 in evening.after takin Calpol-650 it goes. His blood reports are fine only neutrophils a little high..Malaria blood smear test is also negative.its almost 10 days now.he took Ciplox-500 also, though getting fever..What should i do now?he is 34 yrs old.
If your husbands neutrophils are high, it implies he is having a bacterial infection. Bacterial infections are treated with antibiotics for which the bacteria are sensitive to.
Calpol is an anti-fever medicine, it helps to reduce the fever but does not cure it. Ciplox is an antibiotic, a broad spectrum but your husband might not be sensitive to it.
The right thing to do is get a blood culture, with other lab test as deem necessary by a doctor such as urinalysis with culture, cerebospinal fluid analysis etc.
Hope this helps best regards Dr Achuo
