Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 7 month old has had very green stool with mucus in it over the past 24 hours. I am just getting over a bad cold and she seems to have caught it ( little runny nose and slight cough). SHe seems to have some tummy pains too, although minor. Could this all be symptoms of a cold?
Hi Welcome to Healthcare-Magic Greetings of the day
These are not symptoms of cold. Following is the possible explaination for your symptoms. Green stools are likely to be due to lack of hindmilk to baby. Finish the whole milk from one breast and then shift over to other breast. Last portion of milk is hindmilk and is good source of fats. Predominantly giving foremilk will cause lactose overload and lead to green stools.
In case you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
