What Causes High Fever, Pain In Mouth And Swelling In Gums?
My son has had a pretty high fever for 4 days. Yesterday he started to complain that his mouth hurt. I noticed that his gums are red and swollen. Tonight I was vedry gentle while brushing his teeth but the slightest pressure cause massive bleeding. He is three years old. Any ideas?
hello and thnx for ur query it can be a viral infection.Herpangina, Coxsackie viral infections (hand, foot, and mouth disease), and many other viral pathogens love the mouth.Viral infections improve on day four in most cases the fever resolves, and the body starts feeling better.gingivitis (swollen gums) can also be due to some plaque accumulation.if it is streptococcal then simple amoxycillin ll also help. its better u watch for another day and if symtoms persist visit a dentist. hope this ans helps Regards Dr. shesh
