What Causes Leg Pain During Sleep In Diabetic Patient?
my dad is on TB (tuberculosis) medication for a week now. Suddenly he has been experiencing leg pain while deep asleep at night, which wakes him up a several times at night. He is diabetic too. His sugar is high and is on insulin. Anything that can help him with the pain.
Having leg pain while deep asleep at night might be related to: - diabetic neuropathy (damages to the nerves due to persistent high blood sugar level) - vitamins and minerals deficiency (vit.B complex and/or Magnesium)
I advise to get him checked by a neurologist to rule out diabetic neuropathy. A short course of vit.B complex i.m. I prescribe to my patients together with supplementation with vitamins and minerals.
I also advise to take good control of his diabetes as it is crucial in improving of his symptoms.
All the best! Dr.Albana
