What Causes Low Grade Fevers?

About a month ago I had a stomach bug with diarrhea & vomiting. Had a temprerature 38,4 C. After a few days it was ok. As I was nervous about my health, I went to gynaecologist, who said everything was ok & to the gastroenterologist, who examined me and also said I was ok, but she diagnosed me with IBS (earlier I had some more frequent bowel movements). Since about 3 weeks I ve been having a low-grade fever (37,2 to 37,6 C). I went to see a GP and had my blood (with CRP and ESR) and urine work done. All the results were ok. I have no other symptoms: no pains, no fatigue, etc. Sometimes at night I feel a bit hot and during the day a bit cold (I m usually cold during autumn and winter) My doctor said she has no idea why my temperature is raised but said I shouldn t be worried. I ve been suffering from health anxiety for over a month now. Also, sometimes I can feel a pulsating feeling in my stomach and some heart palpitations. I sometimes wake up during nights. I m a female, 28 years old.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

This temperature of 37.3-37.6 is normal and would not be considered a low grade fever. I believe you are nit doing justice to yourself by being too concerned about ill health of which it is not actually the case with you. I will suggest that you stay relaxed and only become too worried should a new symptom set in.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Be helpful to yourself by saying you are not sick and believing so because this temperature is very normal.
Thanks and feel free to ask for more information and explanation if need be.
