it took 2-3 weeks for the red line and black and blue to go away but I still have alot of pain in my arm. The doctor is ordering an MRI.
Any thoughts on what it could be and if anything can show up on an MRI>
I had an blood clot about 15 years ago in my other arm from someone drawing blood and it was between the two nerves in my arm and surgery had to be done. Now about 2 weeks ago I also had an IV and ended up with thumbities which the lump is at my bone area at the wrist. The lump isn't as big as it was but is still there.
CAn you give me answers regarding my two questions?
Respected user, hi I evaluated your query thoroughly. Ans.1 MRI will reveal the minute soft tissue insult done by phlebitis . Ans.2 Your body has tendency towards certain development of thrombophlebitis so advisable to start vigorous controlling steps as soon as IV treatment is over to have faster recovery. Hope this clears your doubts. Thanks for using Health care magic & reviewing my answer thoroughly. Wishing you fast recovery from it. Regards dear take care.
