What Causes Period Bleeding After Intake Of Norethisterone To Downs Patient?

DAUGHTER AGE 13 HAS DOWNS SYNDROME AND WAS PRESCRIBE NORETHISTERONE TO PREVENT HER PERIODS.SHE HAS BEEN TAKING 2 TABLETS A DAY FOR 7 WEEKS AND ALL WAS WELL UNTILL LAST FRIDAY WHEN SHE STARTED TO BLEED.SPOKE TO THE GYNO NURSE AT ALDERHEY WHO ADVISED TO INCREASE THE DOSE TO 3 WHICH I HAVE DONE.SHE HAS HOWEVER BEEN BLEEDING FOR 8 DAYS WHAT DO YOU ADVISE

Your child needs full check up with gynae.she needs to check coagulopathy for bleeding disorders.please check platelet function analysis as well.they can benefit from transaminic acid tablet to stopp heavy periods.
