What Causes Redness In Eyes And Vertigo After Head Injury?
I have a friend who was at an event and ended up getting body slammed and he hit is head 6 days ago. For the past few days he has been experiencing vertigo, balance problems, and problems concentrating. Also, this morning he woke up and his eye was turning red. He called the doctor and they told him that he wouldn't be able to get in until tomorrow. I believe he has a concussion but am unsure on the severity. Should we take him into the hospital or since it's been over 24 hours is it safe for him to wait until tomorrow?

Emergency Medicine Specialist, Dr. David Dupy's Response
If your friend is not on any blood thinners, acting correctly, not vomiting then I think it is safe to wait till tomorrow
I agree he has a concussion
I would want to know if he had any vision changes or pain in his eye, if he does then I think he should be seen today
Best treatment for a concussion is brain rest. This means sleeping a lot, no loud sounds, no bright lights, no TV or texting, etc.
Hope this helps, Dr Dupy
