What Causes Ruptured Breast Implants And Infection After Double Masectomy?

had stage 3-4 left breast cancer, opped for double masectomy. Had expanders for approximately 6 weeks. Had implants 3 weeks ago, two weeks later the encision s burst on both breast and almost fell out, Been in hospital vith infection and had to have both implants removed,m What went wrong?

Dear Ma'am,

Thank you for asking your question at HCM. Infection following implants is a known complication and as implants are a foreign body, the only way to take care of a major infection is to remove them. Implants can burst out in cases of infection or if they have not been anchored properly. At present, you should wait for the infection to subside. Implants can again be inserted at a later date.
