What Causes Swelling On The Eye And Forehead After Head Injury?
My daughter was pushed and hit her head in the back on a concrete wall 4 days ago. She did not have a bump. We took her to her Dr. on the 2nd day. We were told she had a concussion and to watch her symptons. The next day she was in excruciating pain, felt nauseated, sleepy, and sometimes dizzy. She saud it felt like the top of her head was being burned by a curling iron during the night time when she was trying to sleep. I took her into ER. At this time she had a tiny blue mark on her forehead (the size of a dot) in between her eyes on the forehead. She had terrible pain in her right eye. ER did a CT scan. They said that they did not see bleeding in the scan and released us. It s the next day, so it s 4 days since her injury. She has been nauseated off and on all day. Dizzy at some points. Her right eye is now swollen and she can barely open it. Her forehead is sore to touch. We are confused since she hit the back of her head. Is it normal for the eye to swell and the forehead to be slightly swollen and in pain?
Please get an MRI brain scan done to rule out any meningeal irritation and also the base of skull fractures. She should be on absolute bed rest and close monitoring of vitals.
