What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After A Cervical Cone Biopsy?

I had cervical cone biopsy on 30 June 2011, I had spotting, bleeding for 2 weeks after that. On 15 July suddenly blood gush out, dripping onto floor, went to hospital, doctor cauterize it. I was under anesthesia. Doctor said it was infection n big arteries burst.
I wander is it due to poor stitching during biopsy, will it burst again? Is it life threatening.?
