What Could Be The Cause For Knot In Vein Leading To Pain Which Increases When Applied Pressure?

Earlier today I noticed a very tender spot, about the size of a quarter, just above my left elbow. When feeling around the area I was able to locate a knot in my vein, estimated size of a pencil eraser. The area is very sore and the pain increases when pressure is applied. I have never had this happen before and I am trying to get a possible idea of what could cause this. Should I be concerned. I don't have a family doctor but should I seek treatment for this? Please help, I am very concerned.

I really understand your problem first thing I would like to say you here that this is not the knot, this could be some local swelling of any lymph node and such painful lymph nodes are common, just wait for few days it will go away without any treatment, if does not disappeared then and then have anti-inflammatory drug and the Ibuprofen is the drug of choice have it three times in day even if it does not go away then you need to be examined, hope this will help you have good day.
