What Could Bloodshot In Eyes Suggest?

My 4 year old son has recently had a mild cold (mucus was clear, turned green for day or so). He seems fine now, and has not had a runny nose. However, I noticed one of his eyes is bloodshot this afternoon. Is this something I need to have checked out considering his recent cold?

It can be cojuctival hemorrhage. this will subside 15 days. Otherwise it can be allergic conjunctivitis, for which you can take levocetrizine 5mghalf tablet daily for 7days. Apply cromal eye drop 2times daily.
