What Could Cause Neck Pain And Shoulder Blades Pain In A Child?

My 6 year old daughter has been complaining of neck pain for three weeks now. The pain is coming from the back of the neck in the middle of her shoulder blades...no other symptoms or illnesses . She says it hurts really bad when someone touches it or she moves her neck a certain way.....any ideas what this may be?

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.
I can understand your concern.

It is very difficult to comment what could be the cause of such a pain with out examining your child. It could be because of several causes like local trauma, injury etc etc.

You should consult your doctor at the earliest for a complete physical examination. Your doctor may order certain investigations based on the physical examination findings. Further management depends on the diagnosis made. So consult your doctor for a examination to identify the cause.

Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
