Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Divakara's Response
Hi
Thanks for posting your query
Your LDL cholesterol is very high and total ccholesterol is slightly elevated . Considering your age I would recommend to start medicine to lower your cholesterol preferably Rosuvastatin . Ask your doctor for the prescription.
Along with the medication start doing aerobic exercise like brisk walking or jogging or running or cycling at least 30 minutes a day.
Go on a low calorie diet .
Repeat cholesterol test after 3 months and review. If your cholesterol after 3 months is very much lowered then we can plan to stop the medicine but for now you need to be started.
