What Do Hyperintensities Involving Periventricular White Matter As Shown On MRI Mean?

i had an mri done yesterday. the observations are as follows kindly elaborate on the same. Is there anything to worry??

nonspecific punctate hyperintensities involving periventricular white matter of bilateral frontal and right frontoparietal region
partial empty sella noted.

Also let me know about the other tests to be done. One of the doctor told me a clot passed through brain. What should be done to prevent this clot from going to brain in future

Major causes of periventricular white matter (PWM) lesions include normal changes from aging (then they are called UBO's, for unidentified bright objects), small strokes, and disorders related to multiple sclerosis (MS). PWM are also correlated with vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) deficiency.

Usually clots to brain origin from carotid artery atherosclerosis with thrombosis. Other causes like cardiac problems may cause this problem (atrial fibrillation, dilated cardiomyopathy, valvular disease of heart etc...). Keep healthy heart, keep healthy blood vessels, if your carotid doppler shows already a thrombus then you have to take anti platelet adhesion drugs, with anti hyper lipidemic drugs. Please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
