What Do You Suggest For Sleeping Problems Caused By An Allergic Reaction When On Vicodin And Prednisone?

I had an allergic reaction to something causing hives. My doctor prescribed prednisone and I cannot sleep more than 3 interrupted hours per night. I am also on vicodin. Is there an adverse reaction to taking both and how can I sleep...it's been over 5 days.

Dear User,
Thanks for using health care magic.

Your sleep problem is probably not related to your current medication use. Both the drugs do not interfere with sleep generally but in some cases vicodin causes sedation not the insomnia.
The cause of sleep problem for you may be over thinking about allergic reaction for which you are taking treatment.

It is advisable to not take your work to your bed.
Use your bed only for sex and sleep.
avoid coffee or alcohol.
Limit water intake after 5 PM

If these things do not work for you than you need to meet a doctor.

'Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help".
Thanks
