Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

FLAIR is a MRI technique used to evaluate the brain structures and abnormalities. In your dad s MRI there are small areas which might have had deficient blood supply leading to what is termed ischemia or tissue loss. The symptoms of mini stroke might not have been noticed as the area involved is small. These changes can be expected in the elderly population. Taking stroke prevention medication helps further strokes. The headache is not related to these changes.
