What Does A Sensitive,hard Small Lump Just Below Belly Button Signify?

Hello, I just found a hard small lump just below my belly button n it mildly hurts to the touch... I'm a bigger guy who has been having problems loosing weight n am on metformin for pre-diabeties... In my late 30s .. What do u think it might be.. I also have been getting boils in different places from time to time ... Please help with an evaluation ... Thanks James

|There could be several causes for the same.One of the causes I can think of is a para umbilical hernia. But one important negative point for such a diagnosis is it is not usually associated with pain unless it is complicated. I suggest you to consult your doctor for a physical examination. He will order laboratory investigations depending on the physical examination findings. Management depends on the investigation reports.
