MRI on 12/31/13 showed the following: C5-C6: Disc dehydration and mild loss of disc space height. Right central and paracentral disc bulge. Minor effacement of the anterior right spinal cord. Significant spinal canal or neural foraminal stenosis. C6-C7: Mild to moderate loss of disc height. Moderate central disc protrusion with secondary mild effacement of the right anterior spinal cord. I have lots of occipital nerve pain this last year, with three injections into my head. The shots into my head have worked on the pain coming up and over my head, however now the pain is on the back of my head, ears and the left side of my face feels numb and occasionally hurts. Around the time I started having the headaches, (I ve been misdiagnosed for over a year with migraines) I started having shock like seizures at night; which would be like in pinball bouncing from my head, heart, abdomen, back and occasionally my legs. Since being medicated, the seizure intensity has improved however, I m having trouble swallowing and sometimes choke while sleeping. Oddly, the constant tingling, numbness and sometimes pain in my arms and legs have subsided over the last couple of months. Daily I ll experience pain in my arms and chest. I always have a stiff neck which tightens causing even more pain into my neck and ears. I m getting a Third Occipital Nerve Block tomorrow in hopes of getting some relief. What does the above MRI findings mean for me now and down the road?
