What Does Discoloration In Lower Back In MRI Mean?
Age 46, male, afro american. weight 190 lbs. I have been having lower back pain that goes down to my knee and calf. X-rays show ok. MRI show a discoloration in lower back.
Doc wants me to se hemotomologist 2 weeks from now. What could that discoloration mean?
I am not clearly able to understand the term discoloration. This is something not routinely used in MRI reporting. I assume your doctor is talking of some heterogeneous signals in the spinal vertebrae and explaining it to you as discoloration. This situation can be connected to a hematologist concerning a pathology in the bone marrow. This is due to possible myelofibrosis or similar conditions. The effect of such a condition may be seen on analysis of peripheral blood smear. There might be some problem causing abnormal blood cells generation in the bone marrow of spine.
