Hello and welcome to HCM,
I am explaining you the interpretation of
echocardiography report in simple words.
Aorta is the large blood vessel which carries the blood from left ventricle of heart to entire body.
Aorta is guarded by valves called aortic valves.
Blood flows in one direction only from left ventricle to whole body and backflow is guarded by aortic valves.
Disease or dysfunction of aortic valves leads to leakage of blood from aorta back to the left ventricle.
Thus, left ventricle has to deal with increased volume of blood.
This volume overload leads to hypertrophy or thickness of left ventricular wall.
This is what is exactly happening in your heart.
The medication which is prescribed will relieve the burden on left ventricle so that it does not cause further hypertrophy of left ventricle.
The medication will not have any effect on aortic valves.
Thus, continue with your medication.
Thanks and take care
