What Does Inflamed Cecum Suggest?

Have had pain in right lower quadrant for over a year now. CT from ER last year showed only mildly inflamed cecum with oral contrat, and appendix not visualized. Pain diminished mostly and returned with greater intensity a year later. Blood in urine, now and CT done to find source of blood but no mention on results of appendix or cecum. Pain continues. Sonogram shows small calcified fibroid on right ovary. Any ideas?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history pain in the right lower quadrant over a year now. CT scan showed inflamed cecum, appendix not visualized. There is blood in urine, fresh CT does not mention about cecum or appendix but there is calcified ovary on right and no source of blood found.
This indicates that there may be a recurrent problem with ovary like torsion or so causing you the pain and hence now there is calcification of the ovary.
I would advise you the following:
Get the Stool a, blood and urine tests.
Right ovary removal may solve your problem.
Medical treatment for typhilitis or IBS would solve rest of the problem.
Consult a Surgical Gastroenterologist and Gynecologist for further opinion and treatment.
