I just got the results of my GTT and it shows that my insulin levels drop at the 3 hr. mark. My doctor suggested I eat protein every 2 hours to stay steady. My Personal Trainer said that it s always important to eat a protein, carbohydrate and fat every 2-3 hours. Who is right. If my insulin levels are dropping does that mean I am Hypoglycemic? Thanks. What

Hi Low insulin levels cause hyperglycemia and not hypoglycemia. Insulin helps to clear glucose from blood and make it available to the tissues. Looking at your history You are probably diagnosed with diabetes mellitus after the GTT reports. Discuss with your consulting doctor the required medications, lifestyle modifications and diet. Also keep a check on the blood sugar levels periodically. Regards
