Mild frontoparietal periventricular T2 FLAIR hyperintensitybilaterally. CSF spaces are within normal limits for age. Nodiffusion abnormality. No fluid collections or hemorrhage. Pineal andsellar regions are within normal limits. Vascular flow voids arewithin normal limits.Extensive mastoid air cell mucosal inflammatory signal change and/orfluid bilaterally. No middle ear effusion demonstrated. 4 mm T2hyperintense left paracentral nasopharyngeal probable mucous retention cyst this is a copy and paste from my mri can u please tell me what this meanes
Mucous retention cyst in left paracentral nasopharyngeal region is generally due to chronic sinusitis. Due to chronic inflammation,mucus lining becomes thick and it may lead to formation of retention cyst. Your report doesn't mention about the status of other sinuses like maxillary,frontal and ethmoid sinus.
Patient require treatment for sinusitis.Nasal steroids,decongestants and antihistaminics should be prescribed.Patient should also avoid allergens.
