What Does Prominence Of Pelvicalyceal In Ureter Suggest?
what does this mean? Th ere is a past history of renal calculi and there is prominence of the pelvicalyceal system and proximal ureter of the right kidney raising the possibility of a more distal uretic calculus though this could not be demonstrated on ultrasound. Iwould like your opinion, many thanks.Beverley.
The scan report says that there is an obstruction to the flow of urine from the right kidney downwards and this may be attributed tot he presence of a small stone (?seen on earlier scan) in the lower ureter. This can be assessed with the help of a KUB X ray and discussion with an urologist. If the stone is very small (3 mm) then it can be allowed to pass through the system by itself. At the moment you must drink lots of fluids and water and visit washroom regularly. There might be slight pain and discomfort when the stone exits.
